Hamas urges international intervention as israeli attacks target Gaza hospitals
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Hamas Movement appealed to the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the World Health Organization to take immediate action in response to the direct targeting of Nasser Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis by israeli forces.
Hamas warned that such attacks on hospitals pose a severe risk to the lives of patients, medical staff, and thousands of displaced people. The Movement denounced the continuous targeting of hospitals as a war crime, occurring within the context of israel's genocidal war against the Palestinian population in Gaza, with alleged support from the U.S. administration.
Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, confirmed that the israeli forces are besieging Nasser Medical Complex, putting the lives of staff, patients, and the displaced at risk. He highlighted the challenges faced by medical teams in transferring critical cases from Nasser Medical Complex to the nearby Jordanian field hospital due to ongoing bombardments.
Al-Qudra urgently called for international intervention to defend Nasser Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital, emphasizing the need to facilitate the movement of ambulances to and from these healthcare facilities. (ILKHA)
