Turkish Coast Guard rescues 158 irregular migrants off the coast of Izmir
Turkish Coast Guard teams have successfully rescued 158 irregular migrants in operations off the coast of Izmir.
137 irregular migrants were rescued by Coast Guard teams after being pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces near Çeşme and Seferihisar.
At the same time, another 21 irregular migrants were rescued off the coast of Karaburun after their dinghy broke down.
After the rescue operations, the irregular migrants underwent the necessary procedures and were then transported to the Provincial Directorate for Migration Management. (ILKHA)
