The demonstration took place in front of the 2nd Abdulhamid Khan Mausoleum in Çemberlitaş, where doctors gathered and marched silently to Sultanahmet Square.

During the event, Dr Furkan Kurşun, representing the group, read out a press statement expressing concern over the escalating crimes committed by the israeli regime against Palestinians.

Kurşun highlighted the ongoing atrocities committed by the israeli regime in the Palestinian territories and condemned israel not only for its actions against the Palestinian people but also for its crimes against humanity.

The march, now in its ninth week, aims to raise awareness about the ongoing terror, genocide and occupation in Gaza.

Kurşun highlighted the resilience of the people of Gaza in the face of daily challenges, including limited access to basic needs, health services and a sense of security.

The statement also paid tribute to the health workers in Gaza who continue to carry out their duties in difficult circumstances, even in the face of arrest or violence. 

Kurşun called for global attention and cooperation to support health workers in Gaza and demanded the release of more than 54 doctors arrested by israel.

The doctors expressed their willingness to work alongside Gazan health workers and to participate in the reconstruction of hospitals and health facilities in the region.

Kurşun called on the international community, including the World Health Organisation, to take action against the israeli persecution and invited fellow doctors, health workers and conscientious individuals to join their cause.

Kurşun concluded the statement by affirming their commitment to continue the struggle against inhumane actions until justice is achieved.

The "Silent March" protests have been ongoing for nine weeks, with participants from over 40 provinces across Türkiye. (ILKHA)
