Turkish coast guard rescues 102 irregular migrants pushed back by Greece
Turkish Coast Guard units rescued a total of 102 irregular migrants on Friday after they were reportedly pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces.
The migrants were found in rubber boats and life rafts near the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale and the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir.
Following standard procedures, the rescued migrants underwent necessary health checks and were later transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing.
Türkiye and Greece have been engaged in long-standing disputes regarding migration policies and border control measures in the Aegean Sea. (ILKHA)
