The USS Carney (DDG 64) conducted the strike using Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles, marking a follow-up action on a specific military target associated with earlier strikes on January 12.

Local sources reported early Saturday that airstrikes had impacted the vicinity of Sanaa airport and its northern surroundings in the Yemeni capital.

The sources confirmed that either airstrikes or missile strikes had targeted the al-Dailami base near Sanaa airport, following the US-UK-led strikes on various areas in Yemen the previous day.

A US official, as cited by CNN, stated that "the latest strike was carried out unilaterally by the United States," highlighting that the subsequent strikes on Friday night were of a smaller scale compared to the previous night.

Military expert Brigadier General Abed al-Thawr, commenting on the renewed aggression, asserted that Washington is encountering challenges in its movements within the Red Sea. He emphasized that any expansion poses a danger to US forces, given Yemen's demonstrated ability to target them.

Al-Thawr underscored that, on an international level, the US position has weakened, as European countries have not rallied to support Washington's maritime coalition against Yemen. The Yemeni Brigadier General added that the US administration is well aware of Yemen's strategic military capabilities and is genuinely concerned about potential responses in the Gulf and the Red Sea. The situation remains dynamic, with geopolitical tensions escalating in the region. (ILKHA)
