In a statement, Griffiths urged an immediate end to the war that has unfolded in Gaza, stating that three months after the horrific israeli attacks, the area has turned into a place of "death and despair."

Highlighting the unfolding public health disaster and the imminent threat of famine, Griffiths stressed the severity of the situation, declaring that Gaza's people face daily threats to their existence while the world observes. He called on the international community to recognize the gravity of the crisis and work towards ending the war.

The UN Relief Chief emphasized that Gaza's current conditions are unsustainable, and its inhabitants are enduring immense suffering. He pledged the UN's continued demand for an immediate cessation of hostilities, not only for the current population but also for future generations who will remember these "90 days of hell and assaults on the most basic precepts of humanity."
