New York: Subway train collision injures 24 in New York
A subway train collision on the Upper West Side of New York resulted in 24 people sustaining minor injuries, according to authorities.
The incident occurred when a northbound commuter 1 train collided with an out-of-service 1 train at the 96th Street station, causing the first car of the commuter train to derail.
The out-of-service train, which had been vandalized and had four workers aboard, was involved in the collision.
No serious injuries were reported, and the injuries sustained were consistent with a low-speed train derailment.
The cause of the incident is under investigation, with officials examining factors such as switches, signals, and human elements.
Subsequently, 1, 2, and 3 train services were suspended in most of Manhattan, causing delays for commuters. (ILKHA)
