UN Secretary-General strongly condemns deadly attack in Iran
UN Secretary-General António Guterres strongly condemned the deadly attack in Iran, which reportedly killed more than 100 people during a commemoration event in the city of Kerman.
Over 170 people were also reported wounded in the explosions that occurred as thousands were walking along the route to the cemetery where Qassim Suleimani, a former top military general, is buried.
Suleimani was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad four years ago. The UN Secretary-General extended his deep condolences to the affected families and the Iranian people, expressing wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
He called for accountability for those responsible for the terrorist attack. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident. (ILKHA)
