Turkish authorities warn against israeli intelligence operations
Fahrettin Altun, the Director of Communications for the Turkish Presidency, has taken to social media to address recent operations conducted by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Turkish National Police against israeli intelligence.
The move comes in response to reports, notably from the US Wall Street Journal, suggesting Israel's alleged plans to assassinate Hamas members residing outside Palestine, including in Türkiye.
Altun shared an excerpt from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement to journalists on December 6, 2023, made upon his return from Qatar. President Erdoğan responded firmly, stating: "They obviously do not know Türkiye, the Turks, and us. If they dare to make such a mistake, they should know that they will pay a very, very heavy price for it."
The President warned against any hostile actions, emphasizing that if Israel takes steps against Türkiye and its people, they will face severe consequences. President Erdoğan underscored Türkiye's advancements in intelligence and security on a global scale, asserting that Türkiye is not a newly established state, and the potential consequences should not be underestimated.
The social media post serves as a strong declaration of Türkiye's stance against threats and an assertion of its capabilities in the intelligence and security domains. The situation is expected to prompt further diplomatic developments in the coming days. (ILKHA)
