Netanyahu calls for israeli control of Gaza-Egypt border amid ongoing genocide

In a news conference on Saturday, as israel entered the 13th week of its genocide in Gaza, Netanyahu renewed his commitment to eliminating Hamas and bringing back all israelis held captive in the region.

"The Philadelphi Corridor – or, more accurately, the southern stoppage point [of Gaza] – must be in our hands. It must be shut. It is clear that any other arrangement would not ensure the demilitarization that we seek," Netanyahu stated.

The zionist occupation regime has expressed its intent to destroy Hamas in Gaza and demilitarize the territory to prevent a recurrence of the October 7 cross-border killing and kidnapping incident by the armed group. Netanyahu acknowledged that the war is ongoing and predicted that achieving victory would require more time.

"As the chief of staff has said, the war will continue for many more months," Netanyahu emphasized. He also issued a rare threat, suggesting that if Hezbollah expands the conflict, it and Iran will suffer severe consequences, without providing specific details.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported a death toll of 21,672 people in Gaza, with over 70% being women and children. However, Netanyahu's figures were contradicted by a December 9 report from the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, which indicated that more than ten thousand children and infants have been killed by Israel since the beginning of the aggression against Gaza on October 7.
