The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) initially reported a magnitude of 5.4, but later revised it downwards to 5.2. The epicenter was located 10 kilometers from Zenica and 69 kilometers from Banjaluka.

Officials are still assessing the extent of the damage and potential injuries. Early reports suggest there may be structural damage to buildings in Zenica and surrounding areas, but the full picture is still emerging.

Earthquakes are not uncommon in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which sits on an active seismic zone. However, this event was one of the strongest in recent years.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to remain calm and follow the instructions of local authorities. (ILKHA)
