Yilmaz emphasized Türkiye's significant position as the third-largest export destination and fifth-largest import source for Uzbekistan. He expressed confidence in elevating these rankings through collaborative efforts from the private sector.

The Business Forum, serving as a platform for businesses from both countries, aims to facilitate new connections and opportunities. Yilmaz highlighted the joint efforts that have elevated bilateral relations between Türkiye and Uzbekistan to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

Bilateral trade between Türkiye and Uzbekistan reached $3.5 billion in 2022, and Turkish investments in Uzbekistan amounted to $1.5 billion. Over 1,700 Turkish companies are currently operational in various sectors across Uzbekistan, underscoring the depth of economic engagement.

As part of the ongoing diplomatic engagement, the seventh meeting of the Türkiye-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Commission is scheduled for later, followed by preparations for the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting set to take place in Türkiye next year. These initiatives reflect the commitment of both nations to furthering economic cooperation and mutual interests. (ILKHA)
