Azerbaijan expels two French diplomats over incompatible activities
Azerbaijan has taken the diplomatic measure of declaring two French diplomats persona non grata, accusing them of engaging in activities incompatible with their diplomatic status.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, which summoned the French ambassador, Ann Buayon, to register its protest against the behavior of the French mission employees.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry conveyed that the expelled diplomats have been given a 48-hour ultimatum to leave Azerbaijan.
The move underscores heightened tensions between Azerbaijan and France, prompting diplomatic actions in response to perceived violations of diplomatic norms. The specific nature of the alleged activities leading to the expulsion has not been detailed in the statement. (ILKHA)
