Iranian Foreign Minister vows response after IRGC advisor killed in Syria
Following the death of a senior Iranian military advisor in an Israeli airstrike on Damascus, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian issued a strong statement, promising a harsh response.
Amir-Abdollahian took to his social media to express condolences to both Iranians and Syrians, along with the family of the deceased, Brigadier General Seyyed Razi Mousavi.
He emphasized that Israel "should wait for a tough countdown," without elaborating on the nature of the intended response.
General Mousavi, a veteran advisor to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) in Syria, was reportedly killed in an attack on the Zainabiyah district of Damascus on Monday afternoon.
He was described as a long-time fighter against terrorism who served alongside Qassem Soleimani, a prominent Iranian commander killed in a US drone strike in 2020. (ILKHA)
