Türkiye’s service sector confidence sees modest uptick of 1.2% in December
The Turkish Statistical Institute reported notable shifts in confidence indices across key sectors, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The data indicates a 1.2% increase in the confidence index for the services sector, reaching 112.3. The retail trade sector experienced a more substantial rise, with a 4.5% increase, resulting in a confidence index of 116.8. However, the construction sector faced a decline, with the confidence index decreasing by 3.3% and settling at 88.0.
The seasonally adjusted figures for December, compared to the previous month, reveal the ongoing dynamics within these economic segments. Despite the overall positive trend in services and retail trade, the construction sector's decrease in confidence suggests challenges within that industry.
These indices serve as crucial indicators of economic sentiment, reflecting the level of confidence among businesses and consumers in various sectors of the Turkish economy. The data provides valuable insights for policymakers and analysts assessing the overall economic health and trends within the country. (ILKHA)
