Heavy snowfall in Hakkari disrupts access to 32 settlements
The eastern part of Türkiye, particularly Hakkari, is facing significant challenges as heavy snowfall has rendered 32 settlements inaccessible.
Hakkari's Special Provincial Administration reported that, as of 07:30, access to 12 villages and 20 hamlets has been closed due to the extreme weather conditions.
Ongoing efforts are in place to reopen the roads, focusing on 8 villages and 11 hamlets in the city center, 1 village and 7 hamlets in the Şemdinli district, and 3 villages and 2 hamlets in the Yüksekova district, according to a statement released by the Special Provincial Administration.
The authorities are working diligently to restore access and address the impact of the snowfall on the affected communities. (ILKHA)
