UN Chief urges immediate cease-fire as israeli aggression inflicts "staggering" civilian casualties in Gaza
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the ongoing israeli aggression on Gaza, describing the civilian casualties as "staggering" and "unacceptable."
Guterres reiterated his call for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire to address the dire situation in the region.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced Sunday evening that the number of casualties who fell in the Israeli bloody aggression on Gaza has risen to 12,415 martyrs and 32,500 wounded, since October7.
The Ministry explained, in its daily report on the aggression, that it has been encountering difficulties in obtaining updated information for the seventh day in a row due to the communication blackout across the Gaza Strip and the collapse of the internet service in hospitals north of Gaza.
The report affirmed that that the number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip, as of Saturday evening, surged to more than 12,300 martyrs, including about 5,000 children, 3,250 women, and 690 elderly people, while the number of the injured reached more than 29,500.
Some people recently displaced from the north reported corpses of martyrs in the streets. As of November 15, more than 4,000 citizens including 2,000 children are still missing.
The Ministry revealed as well that around 205 health personnel and 36 civil defense personnel were martyred, along with more than 215 wounded health workers. More than 60 ambulances were attacked, 55 of which were damaged and knocked out of service.
It also indicated that 26 out of 35 hospitals in Gaza, and 52 out of 72 primary health care clinics, which means more than two-thirds of the clinics, stopped working due to damage caused by bombing or because of the lack of fuel. The remaining nine hospitals are though operating partially. (ILKHA)
