Demonstrators rally across the UK calling for ceasefire in Gaza
Tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered in numerous towns and cities throughout the UK this weekend to advocate for an end to Israel’s genocide actions in Gaza.
The Metropolitan Police estimated a turnout of approximately 30,000 individuals in central London alone.
In a show of civil disobedience, protesters staged sit-ins at Edinburgh and Glasgow rail stations, as well as London's Charing Cross, obstructing train services, according to police reports.
Organized by groups such as the Stop the War coalition, pro-Palestinian demonstrations have occurred weekly in London and various global cities since the conflict's outset last month.
This weekend’s events featured a shift from mass gatherings to a series of local protests across neighborhoods, towns, and cities in the UK.
In London, smaller demonstrations preceded a larger assembly in Trafalgar Square, led by the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.
