His call comes amidst an escalating crisis in Gaza, where israeli forces have conducted a month-long offensive, resulting in over 9,000 Palestinian casualties, including 3,700 children, and displacing half of the region's population.

Erdoğan expressed grave concern over the "crimes against humanity" perpetrated in Gaza, condemning the lack of swift international intervention to halt the violence and protect innocent civilians.

During his address, Erdoğan highlighted the imperative for joint action among OTS members, consisting of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and observer states including Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), to pave the way for a sustained peace in the region.

The Turkish President also announced initiatives undertaken by Türkiye, including the development of a "new mechanism" aimed at ensuring the safety of all religious communities in Palestine.

He proposed organizing an international peace conference to resolve the conflict, suggesting a guarantorship model involving Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Western nations experienced in mediation to support both Israel and Palestine.

Erdoğan assured continued Turkish support for Gaza by dispatching humanitarian aid to address the severe shortages of essential supplies caused by the Israeli blockade and airstrikes.

Türkiye has already delivered 10 planeloads of aid to Gaza through the Rafah border crossing in Egypt. (ILKHA)
