Belgian unions urge workers to refuse handling potential arms shipments to israel
Belgium's unions have raised alarm over the possible destination of arms shipments, expressing concerns that these weapons may be intended to support "israel" amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which they referred to as a "genocide against the people of Gaza."
In response, transport workers' unions in Belgium have issued a call to their members, urging them to decline the handling of any military equipment that could potentially be used to arm "israel" in the Gaza conflict.
The joint statement, released by unions ACV Puls, BTB, BBTK, and ACV-Transcom, highlighted reports from airport employees who claim to have witnessed the transport of weaponry.
Expressing deep concern regarding the situation, the unions voiced worries that these shipments might be contributing to arming "israel" during what they described as an ongoing "genocide against the people of Gaza."
The unions' joint statement underscored the gravity of the situation, stating: "While a genocide is underway in Palestine, workers at various airports in Belgium are seeing arms shipments in the direction of the war zone."
The unions' call to action emphasizes their stance against any potential involvement in facilitating the transport of arms that might contribute to the Israel’s genocide in Gaza. (ILKHA)
