The Iranian diplomat is set to hold meetings with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, and is scheduled for discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his day-long visit.

This visit follows Amir-Abdollahian's recent trip to Doha, where he met with high-ranking Qatari officials, including the country’s Emir. The discussions centered on finding ways to immediately halt the conflict in Gaza.

In Türkiye, the Iranian Foreign Minister intends to continue diplomatic endeavors aimed at resolving the crisis in Palestine.

The Israeli military’s operations in the Gaza Strip, which commenced following a surprise offensive by the Hamas Resistance movement on October 7, have resulted in significant casualties among Palestinians, with thousands reported killed and injured.

United Nations officials have urged the Security Council to enforce a ceasefire. UNICEF's head has highlighted the alarming rate of children being killed or injured in Gaza, with more than 420 children affected each day.

The diplomatic efforts of Iranian officials in Türkiye mark a crucial step in international discussions seeking to address the escalating conflict and strive for a peaceful resolution in the region. (ILKHA)
