In a statement shared on its official account, UNRWA conveyed the immense grief felt for the loss of its 63 staff members in Gaza, emphasizing the ongoing, incomprehensible suffering that must be stopped immediately.

Despite the serious risks faced by its staff, UNRWA remains committed to serving those in need in Gaza, offering assistance and support amid the escalated israeli offensive.

As the largest United Nations agency operating in Gaza, UNRWA has provided refuge for over 600,000 displaced Palestinians who sought safety and aid within its schools during the intensified israeli aggression against Gaza.

The zionist army's expanded air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip, initiated after a surprise offensive by Hamas on October 7, have led to a rising death toll among Palestinians. The Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave reported that the death toll has reached 8,306, with 3,457 children and 2,136 women among the fatalities. Over 21,048 people have been injured in the ongoing conflict, according to ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra.

The loss of 63 UNRWA staff members underscores the tragic human cost of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The escalating violence and casualties, particularly among civilians, highlight the urgent need for a cessation of hostilities and immediate international intervention to address the deepening humanitarian crisis in the region.
