Libyan Parliament calls for expulsion of ambassadors from pro-zionist nations
The Libyan parliament, based in the eastern part of the country and backed by military leader Khalifa Haftar, has demanded the immediate departure of ambassadors from countries that are supporting israel as it continues to kill Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
The nations specifically targeted by this demand include the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy.
In an official statement published on its website, the eastern-based Libyan parliament, which operates independently from a rival administration in the western part of Libya, issued a stark warning. It threatened to cut off energy supplies if what it referred to as "massacres" against Palestinians in Gaza did not cease.
"We demand that the ambassadors of the states which support the Zionist entity (Israel) in its crimes leave the territory (of Libya) immediately. If the massacres committed by the Zionist enemy do not stop, we demand that the Libyan government suspend the export of oil and gas to the states that support it,” the statement reads.
The parliament strongly denounced the actions of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy, accusing them of supporting israel in its actions in the Gaza Strip while simultaneously advocating for human rights and the right of peoples to self-determination.
This call for the expulsion of ambassadors and the threat to halt energy supplies reflect the deep-seated sentiments of condemnation and concern over the ongoing situation in Gaza. The situation continues to draw international attention and calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. (ILKHA)
