The zionist regime has conducted continuous bombardments in the besieged Gaza Strip since October 7, prompted by a surprise attack by Hamas on southern israel, resulting in at least 1,400 casualties, as reported by zionist authorities.

Subsequent to the attack, the zionist occupation regime severed the supply of essential resources such as water, food, fuel, and electricity to the 2.3 million residents of Gaza, an action labeled as a form of collective punishment by the United Nations.

The zionist regime also initiated an offensive in the territory, causing a death toll of at least 5,791 people, according to Gaza authorities under Hamas governance. Over one million individuals have been displaced, with zionist authorities ordering residents of northern Gaza to relocate to the south. Nevertheless, israeli air raids persist throughout the region.

Addressing the 15-member UN Security Council on Tuesday, Antonio Guterres called for the protection of civilians and cautioned against the potential for the conflict to escalate into a broader regional crisis.

"It is important to also recognize that the attacks by Hamas did not occur in isolation. The Palestinian people have endured 56 years of suffocating occupation," Guterres stated. "However, the grievances of the Palestinian people cannot justify the heinous attacks by Hamas, and these deplorable attacks cannot warrant the collective punishment of the Palestinian population."

Guterres also criticized israel's actions, emphasizing that "protecting civilians does not entail the directive to relocate over one million people to the south, where there is a lack of shelter, food, water, medicine, and fuel, and then continuing to launch airstrikes in the southern region."
