Gunmen kill 13 Mexican police officers in ambush
A group of armed men killed 13 police officers, including the municipal police chief and the director of public security, in an ambush in southern Mexico’s Guerrero state on Monday night.
The State Prosecutor’s Office said the gunmen tied up and executed at least five officers after subduing them.
The attack took place between Acapulco and Zihuatanejo, two popular tourist destinations in the region.
The motive and identity of the attackers are still unknown. No group has claimed responsibility for the massacre, which is one of the deadliest against security forces in Mexico this year. (ILKHA)
