Thousands gather in Diyarbakir for 'indefinite resistance vigil' in support of Gaza
In a show of solidarity with the people of Gaza and as a plea for humanitarian support and an immediate ceasefire in the region, residents of Diyarbakır gathered once again for an "indefinite resistance vigil."
The ongoing peaceful rally seeks to draw attention to the escalating crisis in Gaza, as israeli airstrikes continue to pound the Palestinian territory.
The "Operation Aqsa Flood," initiated by Palestinian resistance groups, prompted relentless Israeli bombings in Gaza for the past 15 days. In response to these attacks, the HÜDA PAR Diyarbakır Provincial Presidency organized an "indefinite resistance vigil" in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır.
Hafiz Ömer Akgül commenced the program with a recitation of the Holy Quran, setting the tone for a peaceful demonstration that calls for global intervention in the crisis.
Speaking at the rally, Mehmet Hüseyin Yılmaz, Deputy Chairman of HUDA PAR, highlighted the historical context of Muslim genocides and the ongoing persecution in Palestine. He emphasized the need for international pressure on world leaders to address the Gaza crisis promptly.
"Today, all the imperialists of the world have come together to besiege a piece of land where 2,500 people per kilometer have to live. It is not enough that they are trying to leave people to die without food and water with the embargo, they are destroying their houses with bombs. Approximately 6 thousand buildings are now destroyed. Today is the 15th day of the blockade, and while the persecution continues, there is still no one to prevent it. European countries are silent and even support the persecution. They want the honor of Muslims and HAMAS to disappear. The leaders of Muslim countries are silently watching this oppression in the name of neutrality. If there is no pressure from the people, these people will watch all the Muslims martyred in the name of neutrality," Yılmaz said.
Yılmaz encouraged a proactive stance among Muslims and the international community in addressing the crisis. He cited historical examples of successful resistance against oppression and emphasized the duty of Muslims to support the liberation of Palestine.
The rally aims to remind the world that Gaza's humanitarian crisis requires immediate attention and action, promoting a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
Despite the ongoing crisis and global inaction, the people of Diyarbakır continue their peaceful rally in hopes of raising awareness and compelling world leaders to take decisive steps for a ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. (ILKHA)
