Japan appoints Takuyoshi Kurumaya as new ambassador to Afghanistan
Takuyoshi Kurumaya has officially been appointed as Japan's new ambassador to Afghanistan.
The outgoing ambassador, Takashi Okada, introduced Kurumaya to Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, marking the transition.
In a farewell meeting, Ambassador Okada highlighted positive developments in Afghanistan during his tenure and expressed optimism about productive international relationships addressing the current challenges in the country.
Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi commended Okada for his successful mission and conveyed best wishes to Kurumaya for his upcoming role in Kabul.
Kurumaya, in response, committed to working on enhancing the relations between Tokyo and Kabul.. (ILKHA)
