The ceasefire coincides with the reopening of the Rafah border crossing, according to Egyptian security sources.

While the precise duration of the ceasefire remains unclear, the sources have indicated that it will last for several hours.

Additionally, the three countries have mutually decided to open the Rafah border until 1400 GMT on Monday, marking a one-day initial reopening.

Numerous countries and organizations have mobilized assistance, which has been held in al-Arish, pending an agreement on aid delivery and the evacuation of foreign nationals from Gaza. U.S. Secretary of State Blinken confirmed the successful achievement of these objectives following his visit to Cairo.

However, Salama Marouf, the head of the Hamas government media office, reported that they have not received any confirmation from the Egyptian side regarding the intentions to open the Rafah crossing.

This development comes as a potential step towards de-escalating the ongoing conflict in the region and facilitating the delivery of crucial humanitarian aid to those affected. (ILKHA)
