Acting on information about the presence of a group of irregular migrants stranded in a rubber boat, the Coast Guard North Aegean Group Command promptly dispatched teams to the specified location.

The rescue mission unfolded after it was discovered that the rubber boat, carrying the migrants, had been forcibly pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek Coast Guard teams, leaving the individuals in a perilous situation.

Undeterred by the challenging circumstances, the Coast Guard teams executed a successful operation, rescuing all 46 irregular migrants from the distressed rubber boat.

Reports indicate that the migrants had been abandoned and left to fend for themselves by the Greek Coast Guard.

Following the rescue, the irregular migrants were safely brought ashore and subsequently handed over to the Foreigners Repatriation Center in Ayvacık district after necessary procedures were completed.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by migrants attempting perilous sea journeys and the crucial role of the Turkish Coast Guard in responding to humanitarian crises at sea. (ILKHA)
