In a press statement, President Maduro expressed his deep concern over recent israeli actions, including the destruction of civilian buildings in Gaza, which he described as a "new escalation" in the conflict. He drew attention to the historical context of the Palestinian-israeli conflict, emphasizing the hardships endured by the Palestinian people over the decades.

Maduro asserted that the situation in the Gaza Strip has been labeled as a "new apartheid" by both the United Nations and various human rights organizations. He decried the indiscriminate bombing, loss of life, and imprisonment of Palestinians, particularly children, women, and civilians. The President also criticized what he termed as the "silence" of the international media regarding these atrocities.

In response to media manipulation, President Maduro encouraged young people to seek the truth and delve into the historical background of the Palestinian people, including the continuous siege and bombardment of Gaza.

Maduro highlighted a crucial point of contention, mentioning that in 1967, the United Nations issued binding resolutions to establish two states, with East Jerusalem designated as the capital of the State of Palestine. He lamented that these UN decisions have been consistently violated by zionist governments, leading to the current dangerous escalation of violence.

Calling Palestine a historic nation, President Maduro urged Christians, Muslims, and Jewish people worldwide to demand adherence to the United Nations' resolutions and an immediate ceasefire. He emphasized the need to restore the historic rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to independence, territory, and peace.

Expressing Venezuela's unwavering support for the Palestinian president's diplomatic efforts, Maduro reiterated the nation's commitment to the Bolivarian alliance's call for a ceasefire and the respect and recovery of Palestinian rights.

Regarding Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's proposal to mediate in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Maduro praised Erdogan's potential role in achieving a just and lasting peace through fair negotiations and humanitarian aid. Erdogan had previously called on both zionist forces and Hamas to uphold the morality of war and pledged to send humanitarian aid to Gaza in the face of israeli shelling.

In conclusion, President Maduro emphasized the importance of seeking a just peace through dialogue, respecting the UN's directives, and upholding the rights of the Palestinian people. He called for global unity and cooperation to put an end to the cycle of violence and suffering in the region. (ILKHA)
