Palestinian resistance groups reportedly capture 35 israelis amid escalating tensions
Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza said that they have captured 35 Israelis. Red alert sirens were activated in various israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, following the firing of rockets from Gaza.
Explosions were reported in different locations, with images of burning cars in Ashkelon emerging. Hamas, in response, declared the initiation of "Operation al-Aqsa Flood," stating that over 5,000 rockets were fired into Israel. Islamic Jihad in Gaza announced its participation in the operation, urging Palestinians to unite against zionist occupation regime. The situation has intensified, with both sides reporting casualties and injuries.
Senior Hamas military commander Mohammad Deif declared: "This is the day of the greatest battle to end the last occupation on earth."
He announced that Palestinian fighters targeted israeli airports and military facilities.
Palestinian sources suggested many casualties among israeli soldiers and settlers.
On Friday, zionist forces clashed with Palestinians during the funeral procession of Labib Dumaidi in the West Bank. Dumaidi succumbed to injuries from a settler raid.
The recent escalation follows increased violence against Palestinians and has contributed to a surge in fatalities, making 2023 the deadliest year in the West Bank in nearly two decades, according to the United Nations. (ILKHA)
