49 irregular migrants rescued off Türkiye’s western coast
Turkish Coast Guard has rescued a total of 49 irregular migrants off the coast of Marmaris, a district in the Muğla province.
The migrants, reportedly pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces, were promptly brought ashore by the vigilant Coast Guard teams.
Simultaneously, 67 additional irregular migrants were apprehended in two separate incidents—one in the Dikili district of Izmir and another in the Fethiye district of Muğla.
The Turkish Coast Guard, known for its proactive stance in monitoring and securing the nation's maritime borders, acted swiftly to ensure the safety of those at sea.
Following the rescue operations, the irregular migrants were transported to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management to undergo necessary procedures. This includes documentation, medical examinations, and other measures in line with established protocols.
