The visit coincides with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian military base in the city of Kant on October 12.

Muratbek Azimbakiyev, speaking at a news conference in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek, detailed the itinerary for the visit. Both President Putin and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov are expected to participate in the festivities commemorating the milestone in the city of Kant.

“As part of the upcoming visit, bilateral talks between the head of state (Sadyr Zhaparov) and President Vladimir Putin are planned. The leaders will discuss topical issues of the bilateral and multilateral agenda, as well as prospects for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation,” Azimbakiyev noted.

Additionally, on October 13, Bishkek will host a meeting of the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a political bloc. Kyrgyzstan is presiding over the CIS this year. The summit is expected to lead to significant decisions aimed at expanding and strengthening cooperation between CIS member states in various spheres such as trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian efforts.

The Commonwealth of Independent States includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The upcoming visit and summit underscore the continued diplomatic engagements between Russia and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the broader collaboration among CIS member states. (ILKHA)
