Erbaş expressed his deep concerns regarding the incidents, which occurred under the pretext of the "Sukkot" or Festival of Tabernacles, and involved Jewish settlers entering the mosque compound. Al-Aqsa Mosque holds a significant place in Islamic heritage as the first Qibla of Muslims.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, President Erbaş denounced the actions of the Israeli authorities, stating: "Israel, which organizes raids against the first Qibla of Muslims, Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by security forces at every opportunity it finds, has once again violated the sanctity and historical status quo of Al-Aqsa Mosque, this time using their own religious holidays as a pretext. These provocative acts against our holy places in Jerusalem, especially our holy site Al-Aqsa Mosque, are unacceptable in any way. I strongly condemn the attack."

The clashes and tensions surrounding Al-Aqsa Mosque have been a source of longstanding concern in the region, and this recent incident has added to the ongoing challenges in the quest for peace and stability in the area.

The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, as efforts are made to address the complex and sensitive issues surrounding religious and historical sites in Jerusalem. (ILKHA)
