Afghan Higher Education Minister urges youth to balance modern sciences with Islamic faith
Sheikh Neda Mohammad Nadeem, the Acting Minister of Higher Education of Afghanistan, urged the youth to balance their pursuit of modern sciences with a strong foundation in Islamic faith during a visit to Samangan province on Monday.
The minister conveyed this sentiment during a meeting with a diverse audience comprising local officials, tribal elders, scholars, professors, and students in Aibak City, the capital of Samangan.
Mullah Dad Khoda Khadem, the deputy governor of Samangan, reassured that the province maintains a secure environment, and its people support all programs of the Islamic Emirate.
He also encouraged students to comprehend the goals of the perceived enemy and equip themselves with knowledge, practice, sincerity, and piety to resist the influence of Western ideas.
Sheikh Nada Mohammad Nadeem paid tribute to students who lost their lives during the two decades of occupation. He emphasized that Afghanistan has overcome a small test and is now facing a larger one, which involves providing security, implementing justice, and enforcing Islamic Sharia.
The minister stressed the importance of strength derived from knowledge, deeds, and raising awareness of individual responsibilities, including obedience to the Amir and maintaining sincerity among themselves.
Highlighting the Islamic Emirate's commitment to education, the Acting Minister announced a special emphasis on students. A budget of 250 million Afghanis has been allocated for those pursuing master's level studies, whether inside or outside the country. An additional 100 million Afghanis have been earmarked for equipping laboratories in educational institutions.
This move underscores the government's focus on fostering education and creating an environment that blends modern knowledge with the values of the Islamic faith.
The Acting Minister's visit aimed to engage with the local community and emphasize the crucial role of education in the nation's development under the new government. (ILKHA)
