Turkish coast guard rescues 118 irregular migrants pushed back by Greek forces

The Coast Guard Command, in a statement on their official website, reported that they responded to information about irregular migrants stranded in rubber boats and life rafts. Coast guard boats were immediately dispatched to the specified region.

During the operations, it was revealed that 118 irregular migrants had been forcefully pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces.

Furthermore, an additional 95 irregular migrants, who were navigating in moving rubber boats, were apprehended off the coast of Izmir during the same operations.

Following the rescue efforts, all irregular migrants underwent necessary procedures and were subsequently transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.

The incidents highlight the ongoing challenges in the region, as irregular migration continues to pose complex issues that require coordinated efforts from neighboring countries.
