The agreement, slated to be effective from October 1, 2023, until March 31, 2025, is poised to facilitate the daily export of up to 4 million cubic meters of natural gas to Romania.

BOTAS and OMV Petrom are not limiting their collaboration to gas exports alone. Both entities have expressed mutual interest in expanding their partnership to include cooperation in transmission, storage, production, green energy technologies, and various aspects of the natural gas trade.

This latest accord is part of a broader trend, with BOTAS actively engaging in pipeline gas export agreements with neighboring countries. Recent months have seen Türkiye signing similar agreements with Greece, Bulgaria, and Hungary, reinforcing the nation's commitment to strengthening energy ties in the region.

Underscoring its ambitions, BOTAS aims to secure a position among the top 10 exporting enterprises in Türkiye within the next three years. To achieve this goal, the corporation is actively pursuing additional export deals through ongoing negotiations with various countries and businesses.

This strategic move not only bolsters Türkiye's energy footprint but also contributes to regional energy security and economic cooperation, positioning the nation as a key player in the dynamic landscape of energy trade. (ILKHA)
