Turkish coast guard rescues 73 irregular migrants pushed back by Greek forces

These rescue missions were part of three separate incidents, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by migrants seeking refuge across the Mediterranean.

The rescue operations, conducted by Turkish authorities, unfolded in both Muğla and İzmir provinces. In total, 87 irregular migrants were apprehended during these coordinated efforts to ensure the safety of those in distress.

Following the successful rescues, the irregular migrants were promptly transported to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, where necessary procedures and support services will be provided.

These incidents underscore the importance of international cooperation and humanitarian efforts in addressing the plight of irregular migrants attempting perilous journeys in search of better lives. (ILKHA)
