Azerbaijani soldiers killed in landmine explosion in Karabakh
Two Azerbaijani soldiers lost their lives, and another was injured when their military truck struck an antitank landmine planted by Armenian forces in the Karabakh region.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 5:35 p.m. local time, as confirmed by the country's Defense Ministry.
The victims of this tragic incident were identified as Ekrem Shadmanov and Tural Seyidov, both of whom were killed, and Elvin Aliyev, who sustained injuries in the explosion.
Notably, social media posts have indicated that Ekrem Shadmanov had been promoted to the rank of staff colonel in the Azerbaijani army before the unfortunate incident took place.
An official investigation into the incident has been launched, and a public advisory has been issued, urging citizens to avoid entering liberated areas until they have been thoroughly cleared of mines.
It is a grim reminder that mines planted by Armenian forces continue to pose a significant threat, having claimed the lives of several Azerbaijani civilians and soldiers in recent years. (ILKHA)
