The Ankara Provincial Security Directorate, in collaboration with the Security Branch Directorate, Anti-Cyber Crimes, Intelligence, and Security Departments, initiated a joint investigation into accounts engaging in social media provocations.

As a result of this operation, 27 individuals, who were identified as having shared mutual hate-filled content targeting asylum seekers and illegal immigrants on social media, have been detained.

During the course of the investigation, four suspects were released following their questioning at the prosecutor's office.

However, for the remaining 23 individuals, legal proceedings were initiated. Out of this group, 15 suspects were released with conditions that included a ban on leaving the country and judicial control measures, while eight suspects were subsequently arrested.

This development underscores Türkiye's commitment to monitoring and addressing content on social media platforms that is deemed to be provocative or inciting hatred. (ILKHA)
