In a press conference held on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the ministry sounded the alarm, drawing attention to the distressing situation.

"Today, we are standing again to tell the entire world about the muffled cries of pain in the midst of another difficult and serious scene of the crisis of medical supplies that continues to afflict the health sector and increase the suffering of Gaza patients, who may not have a chance to survive," the spokesperson emphasized.

The ministry reiterated its recent appeal for urgent assistance to save the lives of 1,100 kidney failure patients, including 38 children, as their supplies of vital treatment kits have been completely depleted. The dire situation has left the ministry in a race against time to secure essential medical resources.

According to the spokesperson, all medical consumables required for dialysis services, including blood filters, cannulas, and blood tubes, have nearly run out. The ministry's hospitals typically provide more than 13,000 dialysis sessions for patients suffering from kidney failure each month. This substantial demand necessitates the procurement of over 13,000 filters, 13,000 blood tubes, and 26,000 blood cannulas on a monthly basis.

The impending shutdown of dialysis centers in Gaza threatens the lives of numerous patients who depend on these critical services for their survival. The situation has prompted urgent calls for international assistance to address the severe shortage and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in the region.

The international community is closely monitoring the situation in Gaza, with hopes of swift action to ensure that medical supplies reach those in desperate need. (ILKHA)
