Demir began his speech by expressing deep concern for the devastating flood disaster in Libya. He stated, "The storm that hit Libya caused a devastating flood in the eastern part of the country. In the destruction caused by Hurricane Daniel, the city of Derna, located on the Mediterranean coast, turned into ruins. It was stated that the death toll is getting higher every moment in the flood disasters that occurred in many cities, especially in Derna city, and that the loss of life exceeded 5 thousand and more than 10 thousand people are missing. We wish mercy from Allah to our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Libya. We hope that the missing people will be found as soon as possible. On this occasion, we convey our get well wishes to our Libyan brothers and sisters."

Demir emphasized the urgent need to raise pensions, stating: "We have made many statements about pensions until today. This issue will continue to be on our agenda until it is resolved. On this occasion, we say once again, this issue should be brought to the agenda as soon as the Parliament opens, before the end of the year, and the necessary arrangements should be made urgently. Today, when the cost of living is increasing every hour, it is impossible for people to live on 7,500 liras. This is a matter of conscience. The salaries of our retired citizens should be arranged so that they are not below the hunger limit."

Demir also addressed the significance of the new constitution in Türkiye's political landscape, saying: "On the anniversary of the September 12 military coup, the President's emphasis on a new constitution in 2023 is important. The new, fair, pluralist constitution, which we have been constantly drawing attention to in the 12 years since our foundation, is a social demand. Since 1982, this constitution, which has been amended 20 times and turned into a patchwork, does not meet the requirements of the age, and the amendments made do not change the fact that the current constitution is a junta constitution. The country must get rid of this constitution, which does not represent the society in terms of identity and values, does not reflect a civilian will, and is far from providing a guarantee in terms of fundamental rights and freedoms. For this reason, we are ready to provide all kinds of support for a constitution that embraces all segments of society, will be prepared by civilians and will keep the nation at the center with its values."

The statements made by HÜDA PAR Secretary General Şahzade Demir reflect the pressing issues facing the nation and the party's stance on these matters. The call for increased pensions and a new constitution are expected to be key topics of discussion in the coming months. (ILKHA)
