Somali army kill 120 Al-Shabaab members in Galmudug State
Somali National Army (SNA) alongside local forces killed 120 al-Shabab militants in Galmudug State, central Somalia, according to a statement by Abdirahman Yusuf Al-adala, the Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
Al-adala disclosed that the joint forces carried out a total of 17 operations against the organization, with several senior al-Shabab commanders counted among the casualties.
The militants reportedly fled from El Garas Town on Monday, ultimately unable to defend their stronghold against the military actions.
While specifics regarding casualties on the side of the SNA and local forces were not provided by Deputy Minister Al-adala, he stressed the importance of continued vigilance.
He called upon security forces to defend their homes vigorously from threats and to pursue al-Shabab until the region is completely liberated from the group's influence. (ILKHA)
