This effort by the Orphans Foundation seeks to bring smiles to the faces of orphaned children and their families, ensuring they have the tools they need for their education.

Bülent Yüksek, the Representative of the Orphans Foundation in Siirt, shared insights about their ongoing activities, emphasizing their dedication to reaching a wider audience of orphaned students.

“Orphaned children face unique challenges, particularly when it comes to affording stationery supplies due to their high cost,” he said.

Yüksek further explained that their organization has historically addressed various needs of orphans, encompassing food and financial assistance.

“With schools reopening, the soaring prices of stationery products have become a widespread concern. While the middle class and the affluent express their grievances about these costs, our primary concern is the welfare of orphaned children, who encounter even greater difficulties in accessing stationery,” he stated.

Highlighting their current stationery distribution efforts, Yüksek added: "We have begun the process of providing stationery materials to children from orphaned families. Today, with the gracious support of our benefactors, Siirt Orphans Foundation has supplied 66 children with stationery items and school bags. We initiated this initiative to ensure that orphaned children do not feel left out or disheartened when they see their peers with pencils, erasers, and bags at school. Our work in this regard continues, and the happiness we witness in the smiles of these children is our ultimate reward."

Sabahat Özgen, a beneficiary of the Orphans Foundation's assistance for over a decade, expressed her gratitude for the organization's unwavering support. She stated: "They have been there for us, providing essentials like food, clothing, shoes, and even red meat. Their aid includes fitrah, zakat, and alms. I am truly thankful, and I pray for the well-being of the generous benefactors. When I went to purchase stationery for my daughter, the costs were exorbitant – more than 900 Turkish liras for just three notebooks, one eraser, and a pencil. I couldn't afford the remaining items my daughter needed. Siirt Orphans Foundation has promised to provide the missing stationery for my daughter. May Allah bless the benefactors and grant them a place close to our Prophet."

The Orphans Foundation's ongoing efforts in Siirt underscore their commitment to nurturing the educational prospects and overall well-being of orphaned children in the region during these challenging economic times. (ILKHA)
