Intense efforts underway to end Russia-Ukraine war, says Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the media in a press conference held after the conclusion of the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi, India.
During the conference, President Erdoğan spoke about the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and the diplomatic efforts being made to bring it to an end.
Erdoğan stated: "We have been making intense efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, which has cost millions of lives. We have undertaken many diplomatic moves ranging from the Istanbul Process, which brought the sides together around the same table, to the prisoner exchange and Black Sea Initiative."
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has been ongoing for a year and a half and has resulted in significant loss of life. President Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye's involvement in diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis, including the Istanbul Process, which facilitated dialogue between the conflicting parties.
Furthermore, Erdoğan mentioned the Black Sea Initiative, which has seen the transportation of 33 million tons of grains to international markets. This initiative has played a crucial role in preventing the escalation of the food crisis in the region.
The Turkish President's remarks underscore Türkiye's active role in international diplomacy and its commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the protracted Russia-Ukraine conflict. (ILKHA)
