The rescue operation spanned across the coastal regions of Izmir, Aydın, and Muğla, where Coast Guard boats were promptly deployed upon receiving information about a group of migrants stranded in life rafts.

This effort not only saved lives but also exposed the ongoing challenges of irregular migration in the region.

Additionally, authorities detained 27 irregular migrants and apprehended three suspected migrant smugglers off the coasts of Izmir and Aydın, further highlighting the relentless efforts to combat illegal migration.

After undergoing necessary procedures, the rescued irregular migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, where they will receive assistance and support.

Turkey's Coast Guard remains dedicated to upholding the principles of humanity and safety at sea, actively working to ensure the well-being of those in distress and to combat illegal migration along its coastlines. (ILKHA)
