Russian and Turkish foreign ministers to meet in Moscow
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will meet in Moscow on Thursday, August 31 and Friday, September 1.

The meeting was announced by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova at her daily press conference on Tuesday. Zakharova said that the two ministers will discuss a range of issues, including the situation in Ukraine and Syria.
The meeting comes after Foreign Minister Fidan traveled to Kiev, Ukraine on Friday, August 25, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba. Fidan's visit was seen as an attempt to mediate between Russia and Ukraine.
The meeting between Lavrov and Fidan is the latest sign of the growing cooperation between Russia and Turkey. The two countries have been working together to try to resolve the crisis in Syria, and they have also been cooperating on economic and energy projects. (ILKHA)
