Libya suspends foreign minister after meeting with zionist minister
Libya has suspended its foreign minister, Najla al-Mangoush, after she met with zionist regime’s foreign minister, Eli Cohen, in Rome last week.
The Libyan government said that the meeting was unplanned and informal, and that Mangoush had declined to meet with any israeli representatives.
The Libyan foreign ministry said that no formal discussions took place during the meeting, and that Mangoush reiterated Libya's commitment to the Palestinian cause. However, the zionist occupation regime has said that the meeting was a "historic step" towards normalizing relations between the two countries.
News of the unexpected meeting has triggered public protests across various Libyan cities and prompted a letter from Libya's Presidential Council, seeking clarification on the circumstances surrounding the encounter. (ILKHA)
