Mujahid denounced the assertions of two high-ranking UN Security Council counter-terrorism officials, labeling them as baseless accusations. He emphasized that Afghan security forces have been actively engaged in continuous operations against illegal weapons and ISIS over the last two years. These operations have resulted in the confiscation of weapons and ammunition, along with the dismantling of ISIS operational capabilities.

"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan once again rejects these baseless accusations and, while calling for transparent involvement in such issues, states that in the last two years, Afghan security forces have conducted hundreds of continuous operations against illegal weapons and ISIS. As a result, weapons and ammunition were captured and ISIS’s operational capabilities were destroyed," Mujahid stated.

Mujahid expressed skepticism about the credibility of those making such claims, suggesting that they might lack sufficient information or could be inadvertently promoting the resurgence of a previously eradicated ISIS through misinformation. He also implied that such allegations could contribute to regional instability.

He went on to assert that the activities of ISIS have been effectively quelled over the past year in Afghanistan. He criticized the UN for releasing unfounded and undocumented claims about the presence of the group, emphasizing that such assertions from an international organization are unacceptable.

Furthermore, Mujahid attributed the challenging humanitarian situation in Afghanistan to unilateral sanctions imposed by the United Nations and other parties. He pointed out that freezing assets has exacerbated these issues. He called for an immediate shift in the conditions for stability in the region.

As the situation develops, the stance of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on the UN's allegations and its efforts to counter militant groups will likely continue to draw international attention and scrutiny. (ILKHA)
