The demise of Prigozhin was the result of a plane crash that occurred recently. This incident comes only two months after Prigozhin led a daylong mutiny against Russia's military establishment. President Vladimir Putin strongly denounced this mutiny as an act of "treason," emphasizing its challenge to his authority within his 23-year rule.

According to the statement released by Svetlana Petrenko, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, the identities of all 10 bodies recovered from the crash site were verified through forensic testing. These identities corresponded to the individuals listed on the plane's passenger manifest. However, the statement did not offer any insights into the potential causes or circumstances surrounding the plane crash.

Earlier during the week, Russia's civil aviation authority disclosed that Yevgeny Prigozhin and several of his key associates were among the passengers and crew listed on the ill-fated plane. The private jet carrying Prigozhin and his companions met with tragedy as it crashed in the Tver region, situated to the northwest of Moscow, during the late hours of Wednesday afternoon.

This unfortunate incident immediately raised suspicions of a potential assassination plot, prompting speculation of high-level involvement within the Russian power structure. (ILKHA)
